100 Words Near Lockdown’s End #1

--

View of a person parting curtains to look out a brightly lit window.

February 21, 2021

Last week’s snow lingers in giant, dirty, icy street mounds

and sparkly lawn drifts.

Broken limbs dangle from above.

Fresh gashes in trees are bright against dark, aged moss.

Power lines are coiled and waiting.

Wind whispers,

and renewal feels near?

The sun came out with crocuses and reminded us that we’ve nearly completed a full circle around it since the handful of days in which the whole world changed.

Changed forever?

An op-ed says “this” will be done by mid-spring. Children back to school.

If true, did we do all we wanted to before lockdown’s end?
